London Daily Telegraph - Lure of Lady Emily

I reported that Joshua Jackson, sardonic star of US television series Dawson's Creek, had become friendly with Lady Emily Compton on a recent visit to London.

Now, Jackson has been telling friends how much he likes it over here compared with Los Angeles, where he spends most of his time.

"I've always thought of myself as a bit of a gipsy," he said. "I like moving around, and I love England.

"The problem with LA is that 90 per cent of the people there are out-of-work actors - and, frankly, they're not very pleasant to be around."

from The Daily Telegraph - London

My suggestion that Lady Emily Compton very much enjoyed the company of the dashing Dawson's Creek actor Joshua Jackson last weekend has enraged the budding model.

"I was rather annoyed to see that picture of Joshua and me in the Telegraph," she announced to Spy at a party for the Italian fashion label Loris Azzuro at Harvey Nichols. "When we arrived at the Cartier polo, I knew we might be snapped together, so I went out of my way to avoid Joshua all day."

Indeed, Emily tells me that she hopes to resuscitate her four-month relationship with Jacobi Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe (first revealed here).

"I was especially aggrieved by your picture because I'm trying to patch things up with Jacobi. We're talking lots and I hope it'll work out. He's so sweet," she adds wistfully.

All Nighter at the Palace  www.telegraph.co.uk

Centre of attention at Sunday's Cartier International polo was undoubtedly Joshua Jackson, elegant 25-year-old star of hit American television series Dawson's Creek.

Jackson - who had pitched up at the Guards Club sporting an impressive pair of eye bags - was enjoying quite a weekend of it. For Spy hears that he had spent the night before having dinner at Kensington Palace with one Frederick Windsor and a dozen of his pals.

"It was a helluva night," says one present. "The dinner kicked off at a normal time, but Joshua was still going strong at five the next morning. If there's one thing that Freddie can do, it's throw a great party."

Jackson, for his part, told Spy at the Cartier: "I'm only feeling just about human now, to be honest, but it was a fun night and I met some really nice people."

Those people, if reliable sources are to be believed, included (in particular) Lady Emily Compton, stunning daughter of the Marquess of Northampton.

"Joshua and Emily really hit it off," adds my source. "No one's too surprised that they're both looking a little peaky today."

Thanks to Charise for letting us know that during Watch with Kristin's E! Online Chat today, she has confirmed that Josh will not  be on "ER" this season.

Thanks to ::sway:: for giving us a heads up that Josh's movie, "The Shadow Dancer", may hit the festival circuit this fall.  Keep those fingers crossed!

More news about "Cursed" is slowly leaking out.  We hope to have new news on the movie in the next few days.

We received an email almost a week ago from the screenwriter for a potential "Mighty Ducks 4" movie that is being considered.  Here's the email:

Hi Mandy,

I wanted to let you know about a screenplay I've written for a fourth "Mighty Ducks" movie - whether it gets made or not is another question, but there is interest from the main parties - and would love some feedback - be it in the forums, whatever.

"D4" features both the character of Gordon Bombay and Charlie, played by Emilio
Estevez and Josh, respectively. Both have been out of the game for a while,
with Charlie essentially reliving Gordon's route as a money-hungry, carefree lawyer. He gets into trouble and....you guessed it....is forced to serve community service coaching a hockey team. He calls on his old coach for a bit of advice and direction.

I think it works quite well, and believe it's a great fresh, fun, restart to the series. Disney are reportedly interested in continuing the series, and were thinking of doing a series of direct to video sequels, but I believe it could once again work as a major family motion picture. Bringing the characters full circle is also a loyal way of bringing back the original fans.

Jackson's people have looked at it, Josh was working on a film with Wes Craven, so we're yet to get feedback from him. I believe there's interest from Emilio's party too - again, nothing solid. I guess it's up to you screaming fans to start screaming for a part four.

This information was mentioned also on DarkHorizons.com yesterday, and is something that I guess could be a possibility.  But for now, it's part of our "rumor mill" section.  :)
