Americano to kick off the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Alabama Link to Article
"Fans of the
Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival will have plenty of pictures to choose from at
the seventh annual independent film fest.
The theme for this year's event is "Film For the People," and the competition includes 12 narrative features, eight full-length documentaries and about 100 shorts - plus four films that will be shown outside of the juried competition.
"We've got probably our strongest lineup of narrative feature films," Sidewalk director Erik Jambor says. "We could probably do a second festival the next weekend with all the feature films we had to reject. And the documentary lineup is as amazing as ever."
The festival runs Sept. 23-25 in downtown Birmingham, and advance tickets are available at the Alys Stephens Center box office by calling 975-2787.
This year's competitive feature films, chosen from more than 130 entries, include:
"Americano," starring Joshua Jackson of "Dawson's Creek" as a recent college graduate who begins to rethink his career path while on a backpacking trip to Europe. "Americano" is the festival's opening night film, and most of the cast, including Jackson, is expected to attend."

From the official press release:
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – AMERICANO will open the 7th Annual Sidewalk Moving Picture
Festival on Friday,
September 23 at 8 pm at the Alabama Theatre, according to festival director and
co-founder Erik Jambor.
AMERICANO, a film by Kevin Noland, stars Joshua Jackson (“Dawson’s Creek” and
CRUEL INTENTIONS), Leonora Varela (“Arrested Development”, INNOCENT VOICES,
TAIS-TOI), Timm Sharp (“Six Feet Under” and A NINJA PAYS HALF MY RENT), Ruthanna
Hopper (DANCING AT THE BLUE IGUANA) and Dennis Hopper (EASY RIDER).
The cross cultural love story is about Chris McKinley (Joshua Jackson), a recent
college graduate whose backpacking experience through Europe with his friends
culminates at the infamous San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain. The film is
set against the backdrop of Spain’s notorious “running of the bulls” at
Pamplona. AMERICANO captures actual moments during the festival – including
footage of the daily bull runs and nightly celebrations.
Kevin Noland, Joshua Jackson, Leonora Varela, Timm Sharp and Ruthanna Hopper
are scheduled to attend the Opening Night Celebration and participate in a Q & A
following the film. This will mark the festival’s first time to have all the
major stars of the film in attendance on Opening Night.
“We are thrilled to have Noland’s AMERICANO open our festival,” Jambor said.
“This film has received a lot of critical praise over the last few months and
having the chance to bring it to Birmingham, where people are eager to see new
films, is truly groundbreaking for the festival.”

Josh at "The Brothers Grimm" after-party in Los Angeles Link to Article
"...Garner, husband Ben Affleck and brother-in-law Casey Affleck attended to support family friend Matt Damon, who stars with Williams' boyfriend, Heath Ledger, as fairy-tale publishers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm.
Wolfgang Puck catered the Directors Guild Theatre after-party, where Garner, wearing a loose-fitting printed top over a pair of jeans, chatted up Damon's girlfriend, Luciana Barroso. Ben became quite the protective papa bear whenever reporters approached his pregnant bride.
Williams, wearing a burgundy with black lace gown by Alessandro Dell'Acqua, remained at a table, occasionally chatting up ex-Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson. "

Which one is for Jackson? UK Telegraph - Opinion | Link to Article
Joshua Jackson, star of US teen series Dawson's Creek, continues his successful assault on England's first rank of females.
Last summer - as I reported at the time - he managed to snare Lady Emily Compton, following a raucous Freddie Windsor-hosted dinner party at Kensington Palace.
Now Jackson, who opened on the West End stage this week in A Life in the Theatre, has been catching the attention of the three daughters of moneybags gambling tycoon Stuart Wheeler.
"Jacquetta, Charlotte and Sarah have really fallen for Joshua and they asked him to Stuart's 70th birthday party last weekend," says one insider, during a party held by R-Club at Attica to launch the play.
"I think that one of them is especially close to him, but, as I don't know which, it wouldn't be fair to speculate. What I can say is that Joshua didn't stint himself when it came to refreshment."

FORM an orderly queue, girls. Ex-Dawson's Creek star Joshua Jackson is looking for a sexy guide to show him all the sights of London.
The actor, currently starring in A Life In The Theatre, spoke to us at the after show party. "I put everything into my work so I haven't had a chance to do much sightseeing," he said.
"But I'd love to check out some museums and art galleries if there's someone who could show me around."

MY PICTURE shows Hollywood actors Joshua Jackson (far left) and Patrick Stewart at the after-show party for David Mamet's A Life In the Theatre, which opened last night at the Apollo Theatre. Stewart admitted that he would like the production to play on Broadway.
"There has been some interest from America," he told me. "Both Joshua and I would love to go."
To the amusement of many, Jackson sported a trilby to the after-party, held at Attica in Soho. "I feel really cheated that I don't live in an era where more men wear hats," he said. Some suspect he was more interested in covering up the lessthanflattering 1970s hairstyle he has adopted for the play. Stewart attracted more attention as he left the bash, smooching passionately with his girlfriend, Lisa Dillon, in the back of their car. The four decade age gap between them is obviously no barrier to love.

Europe-based fans will have to stay awake until 4:30 a.m. or so to see the Super Bowl winner receive the Lombardi Trophy, while in Asia viewers must set their alarms as early as 6:30 a.m. to catch the kickoff at Jacksonville, Florida.
"We'll have the game and beer, what more do you need?'' said Peter Marsh, a tenor for the Frankfurt Opera who grew up in Portland, Oregon. ``For me, the late night's not really a problem, but for people who have a real life, a couple of them are just taking the next day off.''
The official NFL party in Europe will be at London's Hippodrome, a 2,000-capacity nightclub in Leicester Square. Among the 1,500 fans will be Manchester United soccer star Ryan Giggs and ``Dawson's Creek'' actor Joshua Jackson, who's currently appearing in David Mamet's ``A Life in the Theatre'' in the West End.
