Charlie (Joshua Jackson) first appeared in 1992 with the first installment of "The Mighty Ducks" Trilogy.
He was part of a pee-wee hockey team in Minnesota (The Mighty Ducks), who was paired up with a hot shot lawyer (Coach Bombay) who was forced to coach the team as part of a community service. Charlie developed a close relationship with Coach Bombay throughout the entire series. Together they gained strength and courage to do their best. The phrase, "Heart of the Team", came from Coach Bombay in the third movie. When the Ducks needed support and Charlie's help, Charlie was given that encouragement to come back and win a game against a rowdy rude bunch of Varsity team players at their high school.
Charlie was the team's captain for all three movies.
